Curly hair has always been a beautiful and distinguishing beauty feature regardless of whether society affirms this or not. What we are now seeing is greater appreciation for natural curls by mainstream media, a major sign of progress but on the other hand could this just be the case because curly hair is now “in style” and there has been a great deal of viralilty in this day of social media influencing?

We find this topic very interesting to analyse as it’s very difficult to determine whether we have made progress in terms of curly hair representation or regressed, subject to what is considered the starting point in terms of timeline.
